With the on-going corona virus restrictions on mass gatherings, there are no planned formal public events taking place in Flackwell Heath this year to commemorate VJ Day.  However, like VE Day, Rita Liddiard and her willing band of ladies are planning to commemorate VJ Day with poppy decorations centred around the millennium sign.  This will include a waterfall of poppies and poppy decorations along the nearby railings.

Rita and her team will be setting all this up on Friday 14th and you are welcome to come and view them on the day and over the weekend but please do remember to maintain social distancing at all times.

On Saturday 15th, our new Curate, Revd Isaac Knight, will be taking an act of worship at the war memorial during the afternoon. We must emphasise that this is not a public occasion but the event will be filmed and made available on-line to those who might wish to have been present.”
