Executive Committee Meeting # 32

The Executive Committee’s meeting number 32 took place on 28th September 2009.  Sadly, the Chairman reported that she had received the resignation of David Onslow, Vice-Chairman of the EC and Chairman of the Police & Traffic Group.  David’s contribution to the FHRA has been immense and invaluable, and we will miss his contribution greatly.

As usual, a wide range of subjects were discussed.  We are already looking forward to a number of events.  The 5th December will be the Christmas Craft Fayre & Christmas Tree event on the Village Green.  On 16th January there’s “An Evening with Glenn Miller” and on 24th April, we’ll be holding another Race Night (so close to St George’s Day, don’t be surprised if the evening has something of a theme!).

We talked about FHRA’s charitable giving and will have announcements to make in this regard at the AGM.  Speaking of the AGM, we’re considering a new format next year.  Watch this space!

The other significant topic discussed was the meeting held on 23rd September with some of the businesses in the Village.  It seems we have good support to set up a Business Group within FHRA and look forward to developing this further.

Executive Committee Meeting # 31

The Executive Committee held their most recent meeting on 27th July 2009.  Chairman Pam Mannering was delighted to welcome another new member Rob Clifton together with Chepping Wycombe Parish Councillor Elaine Belcher.  The FHRA Constitution states that one representative from the PC is automatically co-opted as an Executive Committee member and this is an excellent way that we can keep in touch with our local representatives.

Our meeting covered a whole host of topics.  We reflected on the very successful Cherry Fayre – a financially successful Fayre boosts the coffers for forthcoming FHRA projects in the village!  Whilst our primary focus this year remains beautification of the village, we are turning our attention to our next major project as we examine the viability of a drop in centre for Flackwell’s younger residents.

As always, we are looking at ways to increase our membership – we really do want to make sure we are reflecting the views of the village as a whole!  Are you a member?  Please join us!  [Brian - can you insert a link to the form here please].  We are also looking at involving the local businesses that serve our community – we’ll keep you posted on these developments in due course.

Our next meeting will be on 28th September.  Please let us know if you have anything you’d like to bring to our attention.
