New Flackwell Heath NSO
A new Neighbourhood Specialist Officer (NSO) is appointed for Flackwell Heath. Rob Page, our Area Beat Officer, left the police force during September and his successor will be Katie Granger though she won’t be starting her new role for a few weeks. We wish Katie well in her new role and look forward to seeing her out and about in Flackwell Heath

Beat Surgeries
The next Beat Surgery will be held on the morning of 24th October outside Budgens. Please come and talk to TVP if you have any concerns. Unfortunately our new NSO Katie Granger won’t be in her post for this surgery, but one of her colleagues will attend instead. This is your opportunity to talk to the police responsible for Flackwell Heath, so please make good use of it.

Burglaries
Burglaries in the village have worryingly been increasing over the last 2 months. The police have made the following recommendations to help make homes more secure:

  • Make sure all windows and outside doors, including fanlights and side doors are secured and locked
  • All sheds are made secure, with all  tools being placed out of sight
  • If you have a burglar alarm, make sure it is active at all times where possible
  • Leave a light on if you go out.
  • Tell a neighbour if you are staying away.

Thames Valley Police are aware of the increase in burglaries, and are studying the situation.

Anti Social Behaviour
Anti-social behaviour is still a concern in Flackwell Heath. Please make sure you report any instances to the police and copy/advise the PAT Group of them too (contact details are below and on our home page). The PAT Group will then follow up at meetings with the police to ensure that action is taken. Unfortunately unless we have examples of ASB incidents it is difficult for us to press for the police to get involved.

NEIGHBOURHOOD ACTION GROUP (NAG) REPORT – Meeting Held on 10th September 2009

NAG Restructuring
The current NAG group covering Chepping Wycombe, Hazlemere and Hughenden is splitting with Hughenden going their own way. Hopefully this will mean that Flackwell Heath should now get slightly more focus as the area covered by the NAG is smaller.

Anti-social Behaviour
The police will be repeating their “Grim Reaper” operation over Halloween and Bonfire Night and discouraging shops from selling potential missiles and fireworks to youths.

Speeding
A specific “speeding reduction” work group has been established to look at the issue and to recommend actions. Flackwell Heath will have Dave Rollison on the work group.

Speeding along Blind Lane and Chapman Lane was raised again as an issue for Flackwell Heath.

Miscellaneous
The NAG is trying to encourage youth involvement in the meetings. To this effect, contact has been made with the Youth Council regarding the setting up of a Youth working group. Attempts are being made to include representation from Flackwell Heath

Please always report crime or anti-social behaviour to the police. If the crime is serious or in process, call 999.  Flackwell Heath is not regarded as a high crime area but if you don’t report crime, no matter how small the incident, we will not get the attention from the police we deserve and pay for.

The Police and Traffic Group of the FHRA are interested to hear of issues affecting you as this helps us understand the trends and we can apply pressure on the police to help when needed.
