New Flackwell Heath NSO
Our new Neighbourhood Specialist Officer (NSO) Katie Gregory has taken up her duties and attends the NAG Meetings.
Beat Surgery/Have Your Say
Beat Surgeries have changed their name to “Have your Say”. This is your opportunity to meet Katie and our PCSO, Daton Beckford, to discuss any concerns that you may have. Look out for dates of impending meetings in the Grapevine on this website.
Burglaries
Although burglaries in the village have decreased slightly, the police still stress ensuring home security with the following recommendations:
- Make sure all windows and outside doors, including fanlights and side doors are secured and locked
- All sheds are made secure, with all tools being placed out of sight
- If you have a burglar alarm, make sure it is active at all times where possible
- Leave a light on if you go out.
- Tell a neighbour if you are staying away.
Thames Valley Police are aware of the increase in burglaries, and are studying the situation.
Anti Social Behaviour
Anti-social behaviour is still a concern in Flackwell Heath. Please make sure you report any instances to the police and copy/advise the PAT Group of them too (contact details are below and on our home page). The PAT Group will then follow up at meetings with the police to ensure that action is taken. Unfortunately unless we have examples of ASB incidents it is difficult for us to press for the police to get involved.
General
The group urgently needs a new chairman and at least two new members to enable it to progress its projects. If you can spare an evening a month plus a little time in between then please contact the group (see contact details below)
NEIGHBOURHOOD ACTION GROUP (NAG) REPORT
NAG Restructuring
The NAG group has been restructured and covers Chepping Wycombe, Hazlemere and Loudwater. Hopefully this will mean that Flackwell Heath should now get slightly more focus as the area covered by the NAG is smaller. A new Chairman, Sandy Macdiarmid, has been appointed.
Anti-social Behaviour
Anti-social Behaviour remains a concern and Hazlemere has been subjected to a bout of graffiti which the Community Pay Back Scheme will attend and clean up. Carrington Infants School has continued to suffer from Anti-Social Behaviour but the police are gaining the upper hand. It has been suggested that the “Have Your Say” Meetings should be held in the centre of Flackwell Heath, and that these meetings should be held in conjunction with events that attract a larger audience.
Speeding
The Police Community Support Officers are currently using the Speed Indication Device in various roads within the area to combat speeding.
Miscellaneous
It is hoped that the monthly Newsletter will appear as a link from Neighbourhood Watch. The policing priorities questionnaire has now been published in the Spring issue of the Chepping Wycombe Parish Council Newsletter.
Efforts are being made to try and involve youths in the area. There was no news of any progress being made in making relevant youth contacts in Flackwell Heath. It was pointed out that, with the local youth virtually ceasing activities, there may now be no obvious contact point.
